Reincke Vein Center
What are varicose veins?
Varicose veins are abnormal, dilated, or swollen blood vessels that can be seen under the skin as blue-purple bulging cords and are sometimes surrounded by thin spider veins, which are groups of narrow blood vessels located close to the skin surface. Varicose veins often appear on the legs and feet.
What are the symptoms of varicose veins?
Some people experience no symptoms at all whilst others may have a range of different reactions. In general, if the pain goes away when you raise your legs it's likely that this is related to some form of vein disease or irritation in one’s feet/leg area.
Some of the most common symptoms include:
- Pain, itching, or heaviness in legs.
- Burning, throbbing, or cramps in legs.
- Pain that intensified after longer periods of sitting or standing.
- Swelling in the lower legs or ankles.
If you notice any of these signs, call Reincke Vein Center in Sugar Land to learn about varicose vein treatment options.
