Microphlebectomy

What is a Microphlebectomy?

Microphlebectomy, also known as miniphlebectomy or ambulatory phlebectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove varicose veins located near the surface of the skin.

There is essentially no recovery time after a microphlebectomy procedure, and our Sugar Land patients can return to work immediately.

What to Expect After Microphlebectomy?

You may return to light daily activities immediately following your microphlebectomy procedure, but the experts at our varicose vein clinic in Sugar Land recommend avoiding physically demanding activities for 1-2 weeks after your procedure. Rest and light walks are recommended.

Are There Any Restrictions After Microphlebectomy Treatment?

While microphlebectomy has a minimal impact on the patient, there are some restrictions during the first few days following the treatment. Our microphlebectomy treatments in Sugar Land do not require stitches, so you won't have to worry about having them removed later. Instead, the wound will heal by itself as any other small cut, however, you would need to stay away from soaking in a bathtub, which is one of the most notorious sources of bacteria.
